TECNALIA PROMOTES THE CONCEPT OF THE PROACTIVE FACTORY BASED ON AWARENESS, FLEXIBILITY AND COLLABORATION

09 February, 2026The TECNALIA technology centre has presented The Power of the Proactive Factory initiative, a proposal aimed at evolving the industrial factory model to adapt it to an increasingly changing and demanding production environment. The approach is based on the need for anticipation as a key factor in maintaining industrial competitiveness in a context marked by technological acceleration and digital transformation.

The initiative proposes a conscious, flexible and collaborative factory model, in which technology is strategically integrated to improve decision-making, optimise production processes and strengthen interaction between people, systems and organisations. Beyond the simple incorporation of new tools, the focus is on turning technology into a real lever for productivity and competitiveness.

This concept of a proactive factory is based on smart, connected environments capable of interacting with customers, suppliers and partners, as well as integrating with maintenance, logistics and after-sales processes. The use of advanced technologies makes it possible to anticipate demand, adapt production and improve operational efficiency throughout the value chain.

In this model, digitalisation and artificial intelligence do not replace the human factor, but rather reinforce it. People have access to advance information, analysis and recommendations that facilitate strategic decision-making, promoting more effective collaboration between technology and human talent to achieve higher levels of productivity and industrial flexibility.
