In the framework of the Saudi Logistics & Warehousing Expo, Smartlog, a leader in intralogistics solutions, and Tamer Group, one of the most important conglomerates in the Middle East, announced the implementation of AutoStore and Galys Monitor technologies in Tamer's new logistics park in Riyadh. This collaboration marks a milestone in the digital transformation of logistics in Saudi Arabia, optimising warehousing and order picking operations.
Innovation and efficiency in the supply chain
Tamer Group's logistics park in Riyadh will feature a bespoke automated system, where AutoStore technology will be integrated into existing operations to maximise efficiency and productivity. This solution responds to current supply chain challenges and the growing demands of the healthcare and consumer sectors in the region.
AutoStore is an advanced robotic system that enables highly efficient warehouse management and order picking. In the case of Tamer Group, the custom-designed solution includes a storage capacity of up to 10,000 products, operated by six robots offering exceptional speed and accuracy. This system promises to improve productivity by 400% compared to traditional methods and guarantees 99.7% operational availability, making it a benchmark in logistics automation.
Galys Monitor software complements this physical infrastructure, managing all the centre's logistics processes in real time. This system offers a comprehensive view of operations, facilitating decision-making through the analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs). Its features include the ability to anticipate demand and efficiently manage workflow, ensuring a seamless operation.
Customised solution for Tamer Group
One of the distinctive features of this project is the high degree of customisation that Smartlog has offered Tamer Group. Both companies worked together from the outset to develop a logistics solution that not only meets the highest technical standards, but also reflects Tamer's values and corporate identity. The design includes the brand's own colours and visual elements, integrating perfectly into the operational environment of the new logistics park.
This close collaboration has enabled the implemented system to maximise efficiency and productivity, aligning with Tamer Group's strategic objectives. In addition, AutoStore's modular and scalable solution allows for great flexibility, adapting to changes in demand and the inclusion of new products.
Impact on operational efficiency and sustainability
The implementation of AutoStore and Galys Monitor in Tamer's logistics park results in a number of key benefits for the company:
Amr Elmansoury, Supply Chain Director of Tamer Group, underlined the importance of this implementation: ‘The implementation of AutoStore in our new Tamer Logistics Park is a crucial step in our innovation and efficiency strategy. We are confident that this collaboration with Smartlog will improve our operational capacity and our response to our customers‘ needs, strengthening our commitment to excellence and sustainability’.
For his part, Gonzalo Gomez, Smartlog's Business Development Director for the MENA region, underlined the value of automation in transforming logistics operations: ‘Our collaboration with Tamer Group is a testament to how automation and customised technology can transform businesses of any size, making them more efficient and sustainable.’
This strategic partnership between Smartlog and Tamer Group not only reinforces both companies' commitment to efficiency and sustainability, but also represents a significant step forward in the digitisation of the supply chain in Saudi Arabia. As the Kingdom continues to diversify its economy, the implementation of advanced logistics solutions will be key to responding to growing market demands, especially in critical sectors such as healthcare and consumer goods.
