FANUC AND GOOGLE ADVANCE PHYSICAL AI FOR AUTONOMOUS INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS

FANUC has strengthened its commitment to industrial automation by announcing a strategic collaboration with Google to accelerate the development of Physical AI solutions for manufacturing. The partnership combines FANUC's robotics expertise with Google's latest artificial intelligence technologies to enable a new generation of autonomous industrial robots.

At the heart of the collaboration is an AI agent powered by Google Gemini Enterprise, capable of understanding natural language instructions, identifying objects and autonomously operating FANUC robots to perform assigned tasks. The technology represents a major step towards intelligent robotic systems where collaborative and industrial robots can work together within the same production cell.

FANUC's open architecture, compatible with ROS, Python and high-speed communication interfaces, enables manufacturers to integrate AI applications quickly and efficiently. Since presenting its Physical AI concept at IREX, the company has already supplied more than 1,000 robots for AI-driven applications.

The collaboration also includes full support for FANUC robots on Intrinsic's robotics platform and participation in Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics Trusted Tester Program, reinforcing FANUC's role in shaping the next generation of intelligent, flexible and fully connected manufacturing.
